And we’re only 5 weeks away from her first standup special, “Headlong into the Apocalypse” on the Main Stage at iO West on Hollywood Boulevard, coming up on July, 8, 9 & 10. All shows at 7:00 pm. Tickets are $10. It’ll be a while lot of funny for a small sum of money. For more info, click here.
This is just a somewhat hyperbolic reminder that our standup comic daughter Emilia is performing her first hour-long special at iO West in Hollywood less than 6 weeks from today.

Since returning to her hometown of Los Angeles after her college graduation, my daughter Emilia has been honing her craft as a standup comedian.
For the past couple years, Emilia has been earning laughs and developing her unique material in performance at comedy clubs in Los Angeles, Chicago, New York and San Francisco.
Among the many clubs she’s played in Los Angeles are the famous Comedy Store on the Sunset Strip, The Formosa in West Hollywood, Flappers in Burbank, The Federal Bar in North Hollywood and The Leche Lounge in Silver Lake.
Now, Emilia is adding the Main Stage at iO West to that list.
If you’ve been among the many wonderful folks who’ve come out to see her club gigs, you’ve Emilia do 7-minute sets – 12 minutes or so when she’s headlining the show.
This time she’s doing her first full-length show: an hour of offbeat, satiric and highly original standup comedy on July 8, 9 and 10.
All shows are at 7:00 PM at iO West, located at 6366 Hollywood Boulevard.
Tickets are $10.

This Friday, April 29th, Eva B. Ross (my bluesy, jazzy, soulful, singer-songwriter daughter) will play a special 7:30 show Live At The Whiskey Lounge upstairs at 27 Live in Evanston, Illinois.
Of course, maestro Steve Rashid will be hosting this event and tickling the ivories as he leads an unbelievably talented trio backing Eva, including the great Don Stiernberg on guitar and the always-tasty Jim Cox on bass.
If you saw Eva’s concert at The Whiskey Lounge late last summer, you won’t want to miss this one. And if you have yet to enjoy Eva in the company of such wonderful musical artists as Steve, Don and Jim – then check out this show. It’s gonna be a great night.
If you haven’t seen my singer-songwriter daughter Eva in performance yet – this is the gig to see.
I don’t know much about the music scene in Los Angeles, but I understand that it’s a big deal to play The Hotel Café. It’s evidently one of the cools gigs to get. And Eva’s got it.
So, check Eva out at The Hotel Café. The show just happens to be on my birthday, Saturday April 16th at 9:45. (Sure it’s a late start – but you can sleep in on Sunday, right? Besides, it’s my birthday, remember?)
Eva’s very talented UCLA friend, Nick Valentini, is also on the bill with his eclectic and tasty band. I’ve seen Nick and his crew perform – and they’re brilliant!
It’s going to be a legendary night of great music.
So, be there. Victoria and I will be — and we hope to see you all there.
My very funny daughter Emilia will be playing the Belly Room at the world famous Comedy Store on Sunset Boulevard in Hollywood on SATURDAY, JANUARY 9th at 7:30 pm.
This Thursday, January 7th at 7:30 PM, a group of talented young musicians will take the stage at The Mint in Hollywood for an eclectic evening of rock & roll, jazz and blues.
Among this fine collection of artists are my daughter Eva and her band The Eva B. Ross Foundation – along with her friends from UCLA, the popular Nick Valentini Collective.
Eva is an emerging singer-songwriter who plays originals, rock classics and standards from the Great American Songbook with a bluesy, jazzy flavor, tinged with shades of Joni Mitchell and Norah Jones.
Eva might argue with that description, but that’s what I hear. Lend her an ear and hear for yourself.
This show will also be an opportunity for folks on the West Coast to hear Henry Hall play. I’ve known Henry since he was born – and he’s grown into a fine young man with great guitar skills and a singular musical vision. Check him out.
The show will be a musical treasure.
That’s why it’s at The Mint.
The Mint is located at 6010 West Pico Blvd. in Los Angeles. For ticket information, click here.
