I’ve always been up for adventure — or at least as much adventure as I could afford. (It’s always about time and money, right?) And several years ago, my good friend, Captain George, introduced me to the gentlemanly art of sailing on a cruise in the British Virgin Islands. I’ve been hooked even since. About twice a month, Captain George grants me the privilege of serving with his crew on sailboat races in the deep and chilly waters of the Santa Barbara Channel off the coast of Ventura, California. For the past three years, we’ve enjoyed satisfying (and exhausting) runs in the race from Newport to Ensenada, Mexico.
salty men of courage is apt for those that race. Lot of admiration for these men and women.
